I just had the opportunity to go to Russia to visit my parents while they were on their mission there. I went with my sisters Michelle & Angela and my brother Scott and Sister-in-law Amy. We had a great time (other than the plane ride over where we were delayed in NY which caused us to miss the connection in Finland had to be re-routed to Tallin arrived in Moscow 4hrs late luggage lost and it took 2hrs to fill out the forms). Luckily the rest of the week was great. We had awesome weather I rarely even used a jacket. Altogether my family took close to 1000 pictures so it was hard to filter through and find my favorites so I just took a bunch that looked good and put together some collages.
We were able to go to a few museums, the armory, on a river boat ride, the circus, a Russian play of My Fair Lady, and many more places . When we went to Red Square we were a little shocked to find out that it was closed because they were preparing it for a big celebration they were doing for their victory day. It has been 65 years since the end of World War II and they had a lot going on to prepare for the celebration. Although we weren't able to actually walk up through it we were able to get some good pictures and get close enough to see everything.
While we were there we even went to church which was a new experience because we had to have someone translate for us. But it was fun to meet the missionaries there and some of the members. I'm not going to write everything we did but we had a lot of fun and it was so great to see my parents and spend time with my siblings. I wish Kelly could have come with me but it was a little less stressful for me knowing he was home taking care of the kids.
